Do you know what you're here for?

Posted on Aug 2nd, 2009 by Mathew : birthing Mathew
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 02, 2009:

Do I know why I'm here?

Not for sure, but I believe I may have won a lottery, LOL.

Do I know what I'm here for?

Yes -- I'm here to experience the multitude of things I can't experience when I'm not here.

Do I know what I'm meant to be doing?

I have a nagging feeling that the specifics are ultimately less important than bringing compassion, gratefulness, patience, and joy to every moment. I don't always succeed at that, but day by day, I believe I am getting better.

The Power of Dance

Posted on Aug 8th, 2009 by Mathew : birthing Mathew
I really enjoyed this past season of "So You Think You Can Dance." There were so many memorable dance numbers, but in particular, this piece about Addiction was so well danced and performed. Kayla is the one with the addiction, and her partner, Kupono portrays whatever it is she is addicted to (take your pick!). So powerful!!! I cry everytime I watch it!

Want to text message a distant planet? Here's your chance!

Posted on Aug 14th, 2009 by Mathew : birthing Mathew
In honor of Australian Science Week, Cosmos magazine (in association with the Aussie government, CSIRO, and NASA) is giving everyone a chance to send a brief text message to the distant planet Gliese 581d -- a planet that just might have the right stuff for intelligent life! FYI: Due to the great distance involved (Gliese 581d is 20.3 light years from earth), don't expect a quick reply. Our messages won't even reach their destination until 2029!

To register and send your text, click here. (Messages will be sent in 10 days!)

For more information, click here.

To watch a somewhat cheesy video from Cosmos magazine, see below.
