What have you learned from the world?

Posted on Mar 24th, 2009 by Mathew : birthing Mathew
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 24, 2009:

For many years, I have been a witness to the sad and disturbiing imbalance between technological progress and spiritual understanding. As such, it was often a challenge not to look upon humankind as far from kind, as it was not to look upon civilization as far from civilized. That said, living in this world has taught me time and time again about the transformational, transmutational and transcendent power of love. Thus, with all my being I know that in spite of appearances, there is much to be hopeful and thankful for. In fact, although I can't see the day to day changes, I can sense that the gap between technological progress and spiritual understanding is narrowing day by day! In fact, in recent years it seems to me that this narrowing is accelerating! How exciting! Perhaps I might live to see the day after all when humankind embraces its kindness, and when civilization can truly claim to be civilized!

Matthew, that was beautiful (…living in this world has taught me time and time again about the transformational, transmutational and transcendent power of love. Thus, with all my being I know that in spite of appearances, there is much to be hopeful and thankful for… ). In this moment, it is what I needed to hear. Thank you.

Thank you, Jayne Marie, and your welcome! Guess I needed to hear it too, otherwise, I suppose I would have written something else, LOL!
